Become a Member

We invite you to become a member of the FMCBC, the only organization working full-time with outdoor recreation organizations, industry and government agencies to protect British Columbia’s mountains and forests for our future generations to experience. Your

membership can help us make this happen.

If you join one of our member clubs your FMCBC annual dues are $15 per person/year. FMCBC memberships are $25 per person/year when you join as an individual. Your membership supports our programs - but most importantly, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to preserve irreplaceable wild land, the integrity of British Columbia’s park system and maintain the opportunity for everybody to experience the backcountry without noise and pollution from motorized vehicles.

To join as an individual member please download our printable membership form (pdf document) and mail it in along with your cheque to: FMCBC, PO Box 19673, Vancouver BC, V5T 4E7. Please make the cheque payable to Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC.

For clubs who want to join: If your club would like to join the FMCBC please contact us for more information.

Take Action
Are you concerned about the state of trails in your local area? About a particular access or land use issue? Are you frustrated because you don't know how you can make a difference? The good news is that there are many ways you can take action to help our backcountry assets. Here are just a few:

1. Write a letter to your elected representative: One of the easiest and most effective ways you can take action on backcountry issues is by writing to your political representatives. Every letter an elected official receives is taken to represent several others! Who should you write? Check our MLA Finder for a list of Provincial MLA's. Find a BC Government employee address, phone number or email with the B.C. Government Directory.

2. Write a letter to the Editor: Writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper is another effective way to make your voice heard. Remember to keep your letter short and to the point, and to include your phone number at the bottom of your letter so the newspaper can contact you with questions.

3. Join a club: Joining a club and becoming a member of the FMCBC is an excellent way to take action on a local or provincial issue. By joining forces with other like-minded individuals, you can pool your ideas and really make a difference. If there is no club in your area, form your own club and join the FMCBC.

4. Get involved in one of our regional committees: Check out our Issues & Projects page and get involved with an issue that concerns you or start a new project. To get involved, send an email to us at: fmcbc@mountainclubs.org

Volunteer Your Time
From participating in one of our regional committees to helping run the organization, we are always in need of volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience in the recreational sector and make a personal contribution at the same time. If you are interested in helping out, contact us at: fmcbc@mountainclubs.org. If there is a member club in your area, you can contact them for other volunteer opportunities. The FMCBC would not be able to carry out its work protecting our backcountry without the countless hours of time from dedicated volunteers from

across the province.

Donate
Your donation is tax-deductible. A charitable tax receipt will be issued to you upon written request for donations of $15 or more. For donations over $1,000, you have the option to be listed as a supporter on the FMCBC website and in the Cloudburst newsletter.

To make a donation, contact us directly or complete the
printable donation form and mail it along with your cheque to: FMCBC, PO Box 19673, Vancouver BC, V5T 4E7. Please make the cheque payable to Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC. You can also make a secure online donation to the FMCBC at the Canada Helps website. CanadaHelps is a registered charity with the goal to make giving to charities simple. Their site provides an easy and secure way to make donations.
