Support the work of the FMC

With the generous support of businesses, foundations, government agencies and individual donors the FMC is able to provide more and better program services, activities and events.  We are also able to become more effective in protecting the interests of non-motorized mountain and backcountry recreation enthusiasts. Your contribution can go to support all of FMC's activities or a specific program or project.

 

There are a number of ways you or your organization can support FMC.  Donations of cash, products, services or new and used equipment can all be used to support FMC's ongoing efforts. You can also help with program and event sponsorship; other fundraising and marketing activities; and employee donations (see below) and volunteer support. 

 

Your charitable donation will be gratefully acknowledged with:

  • A charitable tax receipt

  • A listing in the FMC Annual Report (donations over $1,000)

  • A listing on the FMC Web site (donations over $1,000).

  • Thank-you certificate and FMC Mountain photo (annual donations over $5,000).

Your donation is tax-deductible. A receipt will be issued to you upon written request for donations of $15.00 or more. For your convenience, your donations may be made through pre-authorized monthly payments or cheques.

Support the work of the FMCBC by making a donation today. It's easy! Simply download our printable donation form and mail it in along with your cheque to FMCBC PO Box 19673, Vancouver, BC, V5T 4E7. Please make cheque payable to Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC. Secure on-line donations to the FMC can also be made through FMCBC at CanadaHelps.org. Or explore the Canada Helps site.

Work Place Giving
 Did you know you can donate to FMC through your workplace?  Simply identify FMCBC on your United Way pledge card by writing in FMCBC in the “Other” or “Options” categories.  Also, check with your employer to see if they have a Matching Gifts Program in place, which will double the value of your gift whether it is made directly to the FMCBC or through the United Way. You may also presently donate to the FMCBC through the Environment Fund of BC.  Check to see if your employer has this workplace program and ask them to get it if they don't.

 

Gift Giving
Leaving a gift to FMCBC in your will is a wonderful legacy to leave in celebration of your commitment to protecting the access to and enjoyment of BC wilderness and recreational resources. You may also want to consider a gift of property, securities, a life insurance policy or other assets, such as jewelry or art. To discuss these options, please contact Evan Loveless, Executive Director. To determine which gift vehicle is best for you, we recommend that you consult your financial advisor.  The FMC is presently exploring the creation of a foundation or dedicated fund to better receive and manage such gifts.
